You won't find a better racing and running, or a performance cross-trail sole than X-TALON. It is greatly popular in so called "obstacle races" such as SPARTAN, TOUGH MUDDER or our Czech "Bahňák" (Mudder).
Model 225 has a drop of 4 mm and EVA midsole, offering much more natural, accurate and flexible relation to the feet. Their owner needs to have strengthened feet muscles and tendons, but not that much like when wearing barefoot shoes. Good proprioception is the reason for success of this minimal concept. Feet control the shoe and situation quickly, safely and with certainty also in adverse climatic conditions.
X-TALON outsole is definitely full of racing ambitions, but is also great for all trail followers who want a responsive shoe for extreme terrain. You won't find a barefoot shoe with similar sole on the market and, in our opinion, model 225 is the best compromise in very tough terrain. Though it doesn't meet barefoot standards, and if you don't have long narrow feet, so that the shoe won't press your toes from the side, we then recommend to use X-TALON only during sports activities and balance it with active barefoot walking or walking in barefoot shoes.
Soft sticky rubber, similar to compound of which climbing shoes are made, together with aggressive tread offer an exclusive ground adhesion in all weather conditions. Hundreds of medals from the world championships only prove this. Soft outsole is made of the only one and very soft compound and with the aggressive design it absorbs most of the shocks.
Models with X-TALON sole are built on PRECISION. It's because they are designed for maximum performance when the shoe needs to fully merge with foot, and so precisely and quickly respond to changes while running and racing over terrain.
