It’s been almost nine years since Andrea Součková, inspired by her positive experiences with barefoot shoes, began toying with the idea of opening her own store. She was 27 at the time and, as an avid runner, had long suffered from knee pain. However, once she first put on barefoot shoes, the pain almost miraculously disappeared. Andrea immediately knew she wanted to start offering these shoes to the world.
From the first store we opened on May 5, 2015, in Prague-Dejvice, grew the largest multibrand barefoot shoe store in the Czech Republic. It operates both as an e-shop and a network of brick-and-mortar stores in Prague, Brno, and Zlín, offering over 40 different brands of barefoot shoes for children and adults.
We currently offer approximately 1000 different models from many brands. We try to measure and describe all models in detail on our e-shop, and in our stores, we have a podoscope that evaluates foot pressure. It can reveal flat feet as well as correct posture. All our salespeople are regularly trained by physiotherapists and are happy to help you choose the right pair. Besides physiotherapists, we also cooperate with orthopedists, podologists, and other experts.
naBOSo keeps growing, and so does our great team. To serve you all properly, we constantly add new people not only in the stores but also in the warehouse and customer support.
Other team members take care of our ANGLES and CRAVE brands, create blogs, podcasts, and lots of educational content on social media. We also collaborate with many other great professionals in the field — from barefoot shoe suppliers to physiotherapists and other health experts.
2015 – On May 5, 2015, we opened the first naBOSo store in Prague-Dejvice.
2016 – We founded the brand of urban and formal barefoot shoes ANGLES.
2022 – We founded the barefoot shoe brand for adults and children – CRAVE.
2022 – We published the first issue of the Barefoot Magazine, which ran for three seasons.
2022 – The first Barefoot Fest took place, where we set a record for the largest gathering of barefoot walking enthusiasts in one place.
2022 – We opened the largest barefoot shoe showroom in Prague on Poděbradská street, where we also moved our main warehouse and office.
2023 – In April, we opened a naBOSo store in Brno.
2023 – We helped found the Barefoot Footwear Association.
2024 – We brought the GROUNDIES brand to the Czech Republic.
2024 – We plan to open a third store in Prague.
FORBES: A microbiologist had knee pain. Her barefoot shoe business now approaches 120 million CZK annually.
